Hotel Monopol Katowice: The Luxury of Quietness

Some hotels are chosen for their location. Others for their architecture. And then there are those you return to for something much harder to describe: their atmosphere.

Over the years, we had the pleasure of staying at several hotels belonging to the Likus Group. In our opinion, they are among the finest hotels in Poland. Each property has its own identity, shaped by its history and architecture, yet they all share the same unmistakable signature: impeccable service, timeless elegance and an attention to detail that never feels forced.

This was our first visit to Hotel Monopol in Katowice.

The building is beautiful. Its history is present without ever overwhelming the experience. The renovation has preserved the character of the property while offering every comfort one would expect from a grand hotel. From the moment you step inside, you immediately recognise what makes the Likus Group so special: a peaceful atmosphere, refined interiors and the comforting feeling that everything has been thoughtfully prepared for your arrival.

We really liked the wellness area.

The swimming pool is simply perfect.

The water is wonderfully warm, the sauna and steam room are immaculate, the fitness room is well equipped, the massage facilities are excellent... and, most importantly, there is almost no one there.

For us, that is what real luxury looks like.

These days, many exclusive clubs and luxury hotels charge a premium for access to wellness areas that are often overcrowded. Here, the experience is completely different. You can swim in silence, enjoy the sauna without waiting, read a few pages by the pool and completely lose track of time.

We also treated ourselves to a one-hour massage.

Absolute bliss.

Some massages help you relax. This one made us forget the outside world entirely.

Another highlight of our stay was the exceptional welcome we received at reception.

Our check-in was handled by Natalia, whose professionalism deserves special recognition. Warm, attentive, genuinely kind and effortlessly efficient, she embodies the kind of hospitality that defines great hotels. She found the perfect balance between being available and remaining discreet, making us feel welcome from the very first moment. Simply outstanding. A well-deserved 10 out of 10.

And one final recommendation: if your budget allows and it happens to be available, ask for Room 515. Some rooms have that little extra that photographs simply cannot capture. This is one of them.

Hotel Monopol Katowice doesn't try to impress with extravagance.

It doesn't need to.

Instead, it offers something that has become increasingly rare: peace, impeccable quality and genuine hospitality.

And perhaps that is the greatest luxury of all.
